Dear all
I have just spoken to someone whose mother, a stroke patient with weak heart, stayed in a rehab centre for about 6 months. the centre is at taman nong chik near johor specialist centre.
1) Place & atmosphere - good and airy, rather new centre
2) cost per month - RM1,600-00 (which includes meals and accommodation)
3) Physiotherapy - costs RM60-00 per hr
4) Service provided - not too good i.e. lazy nurses - for eg. my friend's mother also operated by Dr Ahmad Khan - after operation is normal except semi-paralyzed on one side - can speak, memory ok, able to control motion and urination, all like normal except being semi-paralyzed. But these nurses are lazy and put her in pampers about 6 a day, despite her requesting to go to toilet on wheelchair - they gave her excuses such as not to move too much because of her weak heart.
what more if mum cannot even speak - so will end up like the services given now at the hospital, right??
So she left the centre and return to her hometown in Kluang, Johor - engaged a maid and the maid does physiotherapy - she is able to stand now and squat but reluctant to learn to walk - scared the pain during physiotherapy.
So I think we will not consider the above centre.
Uncle Hew has asked seh hui to check on another rehab centre in Pelangi - info given by Ho Seng's wife, chua sok moi, whose mother (ah sim) also a stroke patient now at home - mum knows ah sim.
Perhaps Hong can also come in this weekend and check on some rehab centres in Melodies Garden.
Understand that the ang mo kio rehab centre in Singapore will not admit any more patients until after Chinese new year. So temporarily rehab her in JB or what or still in JSH until after CNY???
More appropriate for her to spend CNY in a rehab centre rather than in the hospital??
Please discuss.
Love
Stephanie
