Aunty Stephanie, Seh Hui
apologies for speaking so aggressively that night. Uncalled for and regretted. No excuse at all. Seh Hui and you all have been spending considerable time taking care and watching over mum and I really should be thankful for all the help and I really should not have spoken so harshly. I guess I am being affected by the situation that makes us so helpless at times. Sorry
Kristy
I did not manage to call Wee Kiat today. Rang the number but no answer. will try tomorrow. On any case, I have a friend who who has a sister who used to work as a nurse for the no 2 man in Inst of Neurology ( Prof Ong Peck Leng). I can perhaps check TTSH, doctor's expertise and corroborate that information with that from Wee Kiat as well.
cheers

Dear loved ones
Firstly and before i forget, congrats to mikaela on her wonderful, interesting well-done assignment.
Hong - we can feel that last night when u were on the phone with both myself and hui, u sounded very upset, stressed out with work etc etc.....we understand.
we all observed that mum has improved each day - less sleeping and more wakeful, and alert in turning her head to see who are coming or movements and voices near her. Turns her head even slightly to the left too. her left hand grasping her right.
speaks more but must go very near to grasp here and there. - i told her that she must recover fast so that she can fry ikan bilis for her favourite granddaughter, jade. she replied me "poo ee yang" i.e. "not same " - i guess she knows she cannot fry at the moment. whenever i mentioned your father - she responded with laughter noise that we can hear. we told her next door patient's sis is her to see her - she says "oh oh" acknowledges it.
ivy asks her when discharges where would she like to stay - at JB home or singapore - when mention JB home - she nods but when mention singapore - she turns her head to the side......she understands, right??
when u leave her for a break - explaining to her that after dinner hui will come again and also i tell her i will come again after work tomorrow to see her - she will say "hor hor" i.e. ok.
yeh eng, her close friend came last night and as usual she will talk to yr mum non-stop until yr mum says " woh sze tau lah" ie. i know lah!!.
she seems to laugh more these two days. even the physiotherapist, hafsah, says she is more alert these two days. hafsah says when out of HDU ward - will try her on wheelchair. i noted she lifted her head slightly up when ivy speaks fm the foot of the bed.
Dr veloo and dr AK met hui and ivy just now in the evening and said mum is improving a lot and will try to feed her orally without the tube-feeding tomorrow. dr veloo & ak said that she is ready for general ward - dr veloo advised to put her on wheelchair and roam her around the hospital.
As mentioned by hui last evening, dr from singapore spoke to dr ak and mentioned cannot really detect any tumour cancer cells - yet to confirm and need 2 to 3 days to observe further, which sounds good.
Dr ak mentioned that once the tumour report arrives i.e.by next week another two days or so, will contact us and meet up with him to discuss further.
ok overall sounds good - LET US ALL PRAY VERY HARD FOR MUM TO RECOVER FAST AND WELL.
LOVE
Stephanie
Given the lack of talk from mum, all this is great news!!! I will check with the nurse and Dr Khan tomorrow on report.
cheers

Hi
further updates
Mum more awake in the afternoon onwards
I visited her after work - awake and stroke my long hair and push the hair away fm my shoulder and touch my bracelet.
When i mentioned dad she opened eyes widely and then smile - showing her two teeth.
it is a relief to see this smile on her, but just refused to talk to family members, why??
But according to nurse - did murmur something but they do not understand her.
Hui also told her about having done housework and about preparation for tomorrow's praying at home (chinese calendar 1st day of the 12th month which normally mum will prepare for such praying). Then hui asked mum to give him "five" ie showing his palm and then mum responded by also giving him "five" lifting her left hand and putting her palm against hui's, which normally both of them do at home prior to this surgery.
i think she will be more awake if sit her up - looking around especially the entrance, as if expecting someone.
hopefully the tumour report comes fast
LET US PRAY HARD FOR GOD TO BLESS MUM.
love
stephanie
