My Diary part seventeen Sister plan to come back Singapore

Jaymes wrote to sister
Dear Sister,
Am very sorry about my absent these few days on the email.Because i did not update what is happening on the email but still take note on the diary from the very first day mother was here in the hospital.Another reason i do not like to bring along lap top when i roam mum on wheelchair and when at night i don't keep the lap top in mum's ward for safety reason.
Am also very disappointed with the ''Great Compassion and Services" that most of the nurse given the attention to mother.Basically i have to deal with them the cleanliness of mum's tube/stringe/bed shed and other staff. The care system is a total MESS!!!!!!! What happened this morning was when i heard mum's was suffering from stomach pain and i called on for nurse help to clean up the mess on the bed shed. What they did is only take off the ripple bed for drying and cleaning, but they left the dirty bed shed for mum and told me they followed procedure and the time for clean up the MESS is 6am in the early morning. Can you imagine mother have to tolerate all the discomfort and smell till morning.More also if her left hand with shit in it if she accidentally put it in her mouth then WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT.To me they are not doing their job and ridiculous. I cooled myself for about 15 Min's thinking what i do and finally i decided to do it myself.Clean all her fingers and toe and discard the towel. Thanks a million to Khai Shen too the Detail hands Cleanser, this kills gems and smell for mum's hands and toe.For her back side i have no choice but to purposely walk all the way to nurse counter to let all LAZZZZY nurses down there to SMELLLLL my hands with mum's shit and Bag them nicely.Hi kakak,i dah cuci mak i punya kaki tangan, sila tolong cuci badan dan tukarkan bed shed dia,i takut dia dapat infection lagi,TO-LONG LAH TOLONG SIKIT.The other nurse saw i have bag and definitely they feel bad and they know they are not doing their job.
Aunty Lee Yong have told me before blow up to them won't work so i guess i demonstrate and show them how a untrained male nurse do the job for them.MAKE them feel bad inside and let them realize they have this '' COULD NOT CARE LESS " type of characters.
With lot of Frustration,
Seh Hui

Dear family
I guess you are referring to PSA levels for dad’s prostate? Apparently, this can be quite common among elderly men. I guess I need to read up on this. Dad is probably more absent-minded than usual. He should really not be driving unless necessary, and certainly not at night!
They seem to be having a continuing problem with mom’s electrolyte levels. Can they not adjust it with the right fluids in her IV? Is she still using that or oral feeding now? I’ve read that for stroke patients (if that is what she had!!), effective rehab is key and the biggest improvements are seen in the first weeks and months, then the improvements will diminish. We really need to make great use of these few weeks and not let too much time go by and the window of opportunity starts to close. How is her mood, generally? Does she seem content, or sad or at peace with things?? Facial expressions??
What is Seh Hui doing with Industrial Court and Toyota ??

Dear all
Yes this is the best news we have heard since 25-12-2007 - no tumour detected in mom's brain tissue. GOD HAS ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS FM THE LOVED ONES AND EVEN MY CLOSE COLLEAGUES ALSO PRAYED FOR HER.
Your dad has gone for a blood test - high cholesterol - under medication. signs of prostrate - on 23/01 (wed) checked by Dr Tong in Johor Specialist - same hospital where mum is now - uncle Hew's relative (i.e. uncle Hew's sister-in-law's sister's husband). He did a scan and confirmed signs of prostrate and asked to come back after 3 months - no medication for now - before Dr Tong - dad was checked by another GP, Dr Low of Australia clinic. So Dr Tong advised dad to go back to Dr Low and do a repeat blood test later to check on the prostrate again and then pass all the necessary reports plus whatever previous reports from another Doctor from Maria hospital, some time in 2007. As usual, your dad denied and refused to accept that he is facing such prostrate problem - rather stubborn.
Jaymes really did a good job - have to take care of mum and at the same time also have to take care of your dad - ensure that he takes his medicine before and after meals - got him a special medical box with different slots from Monday to Sunday. One day your dad put the med box on top of his car and drove off with the med box still on top of the car not realizing it. When he reached the hospital could not find the box - he wanted to call Jaymes but called Hong accidentally and not realizing that he is speaking to Hong thinking he is Jaymes. In the end Jaymes went back and look for the med box and found it on the road not very far from the house - luckily most of the pills are OK but the box smashed - bought another box for RM20 plus - what a mess.
We must say Jaymes really did a good job - thanks to jaymes - can see he has not enough sleep - now has to deal with the Industrial Court matter regard his previous job at Toyota. No matter what jaymes please do take care of your health, ok??
Last night 24/01 (Thursday) about 9 pm plus, jaymes called from hospital asking me to go to the hospital at once - really scare me. Mum shivers, high fever - like in fits, eyes rolling up. He called the nurse and the doctor. put ice bag on her forehead - standby female doctor came and in midst of checking, mum started to vomit all the Milo - doctor says so long in hospital so get stomach infection - took blood test to check on the infection and any other bacteria.
About 11 pm Dr Veloo, the physician came and said the locking of the urine may also cause the infection.Today she had an x-ray done - supposed nothing serious. Jaymes said according to the Doctor her electrolytes have gone haywire, will try to reduce her urine and will increase sodium.
As usual when i visited her just now after work - did not talk - just held her rosary most of the time. But when I mentioned about the next bed patient she is rather attentive and muttered something, which i don't understand and she gave up on me.
we gathered that most of the time she is not sleeping but only closes her eyes to listen to what we are all talking about.
Now we shall focus on transferring her to Singapore and also rehab.
Hong must also think of getting a maid - all ready for mum upon her discharge from the rehab center finally.
Kristy, thanks for getting the colour catcher paper.
love
Stephanie

Wow, that is the best news I’ve heard in a long time! So, did mom have a stroke?? What was the discoloration of brain tissue then???
I guess the big focus from here on out is rehabilitation.
What about the dislocated elbow? Doesn’t that have to be set back? And sooner rather than later?
Sorry for all the questions. I can only ask them but can’t do anything to help make anything happen from over here.
Seh Hui, how are you doing? Haven’t heard from you in a while. How is dad doing?

Adam got confirmation from Doctor Ahmad Khan (AK) today that the 2nd report has arrived and the conclusion is no tumour. We are obtaining copies of the 2 reports and I have also asked Dr Khan to prepare his report and scans He has also agreed to discuss the condition, and treatment of mum with Prof Ong before Prof Ong can review mum in person in Singapore and recommend next steps - rehabilitative or more treatment? AK also knows that we do not as yet have a live in maid at home (JB or Singapore) to help mum and therefor we will need hospital help to take care of mum, even if she is in rehab phase..
I will try to call on AK tomorrow to discus all the needed reports and also to request he calls Prof Ong.
cheers

Dear family,
My date of departure from Singapore has changed - American Airlines rescheduled my Tokyo-Dallas flight, so that I ended up with a 12-hour layover in Tokyo ; so I changed the date of departure from Feb 18 to Feb19, to shorten that layover time. Therefore, I am leaving Singapore on Tues, Feb. 19 at 8:20 am (instead of Mon, Feb. 18 at 11:30 pm). Date of arrival in Singapore remains the same – Feb. 4 (Mon) just after midnight (12:30 am).
Got Aunty Steph’s and Aunty Ivy’s requests for the dye color catcher cloths and I will try to get as many boxes as possible. Anything else?
